Swinging herself to and fro to the music
She laughs and tosses her head back and forth
Long hair falling carelessly down her back
One day, the laughter ends and the music stops.
Long rough fingers touch her innocence
The moment is frozen in time
It is then and yet it is also now.
Laughter is forbidden
Music is for days gone by
A little girl is crying
Alone in her room, door locked,
she wants to die.
Inside her head she wants to scream
To those who do not hear
children should not suffer
For dancing to the music.
